Our Services
Comprehensive Eye Examinations - Our doctors perform comprehensive eye examinations which include a refraction to determine the need for glasses, binocular vision assessment and ocular health assessment including dilation.
A comprehensive eye examination involves a thorough evaluation of the entire eye. It can aid in the detection of ocular disease in an early stage - before symptoms are present, and when treatment is the most effective. Annual eye examinations are advised. This recommendation is underscored when there is a family history of eye disease.
The American Optometric Association's recommendation is at age 6 months, 3 years, 5 years, then annually thereafter through adulthood. Although eye problems in the preschool population are infrequent, when present, they must be detected early to maximize treatment success and prevent secondary complications. It is also important to note that ocular disease increases in incidence every decade after age 21.
Contact Lenses - Contact lenses are medical devices placed on the eye to correct vision. Proper fitting and care of contact lenses is essential to maintain proper eye health. During a contact lens fitting our doctors will try several lenses of various sizes and materials to ensure optimal performance.
Low Vision - Certain ocular conditions such as Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, Retinitis Pigmentosa, and others can cause loss of vision that cannot be helped with regular eye glasses. These patients may be helped with low vision devices such as magnifiers and telescopes by using the vision that they have to its full potential.
Orthoptics - Patients with certain conditions such as strabismus (an eye turn) or amblyopia ("lazy eye") may benefit from orthoptics or eye exercises. This may be done in the office or as home therapy depending on the severity of the condition. Visual perception testing and training is also available if your child is having difficulty in school.
